The Urban Aboriginal Housing Advisory Committee (UAHAC) was formed in 2009 and has since met on an annual basis. The Committee includes representation from urban and rural Aboriginal non-profit housing providers from across Ontario, and it offers a forum for those providers to discuss and offer solutions to issues that are unique to them. The Committee’s annual session at the ONPHA Conference typically includes senior government staff and Aboriginal housing providers from across the province. The 2018 Ontario Indigenous Housing Provider Gathering took place on October 25, 2018. Over 50 representatives from Indigenous non-profit and co-op housing providers, provincial and national sector organizations and government were in attendance throughout the day.
